BRAND & MARKETING STRATEGY

Music inspires me. My father provided for me to learn music in my youth. I loved the violin and was able to play in The University of Texas Symphony during college and still immensely enjoy concerts, music festivals, and opera because music helps me understand the story-telling component behind marketing strategy.

Like any great musical composition, a marketing campaign must have an introduction, a development, a recapitulation, and a coda. This is what is called the marketing strategy and this is essential in telling a great story for a brand. The notes must harmonize and resolve. The theme must build, heighten, and progress. And the ideas introduced need to climax and resolve. Are you including a development and strategy for your marketing campaign or are the notes placed capriciously in space?

Understanding the timeline for a product and brand launch, how and what features you communicate for the product, and how to communicate to your consumers is necessary to bringing your campaign to life. A solid, well composed, and developed marketing strategy will make or break a great campaign and truly determine the longevity of your brand and product.

Listen to one of the world's best composed strategies in music, each note and theme serves the purpose.
